Republican Carl Ford reelected to NC Senate District 33 seat

RALEIGH — On Tuesday night, Republican incumbent Sen. Carl Ford defeated Democratic challenger Tangela (Lucy Horne) Morgan to retain his Senate District 33 seat. The seat covers portions of Stanly and Rowan Counties.

In what was a rematch of the 2022 general election, Ford took in 72.11% of the vote to Morgan’s 28.89%.

Ford had 75.67% and Morgan had 24.33% within Stanly County.

Ford has served three terms in the North Carolina House, in addition to his total of three terms in the Senate. He is also the Senate Republican Joint Caucus Leader.
