South Stanly High School volleyball standout Adison Campbell has decided to continue her athletic pursuits at Sandhills Community College in the fall. The 5-foot-7 setter signed her letter of intent to play for the Lady Flyers last Friday. Campbell earned all-conference and team MVP honors as a junior and senior for the Rowdy Rebel Bulls. She also earned all-conference and all-district recognition the past two seasons as a shortstop and pitcher for the softball team that came within one win of making it to the NCHSAA 1A State Championship series last spring.
Campbell is the daughter of Chip and Linda Campbell. She is a member of National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society, and she served as a team captain in volleyball and softball. Campbell was credited with more than 900 assists during her high school volleyball career. She was second on her team in digs last season, tied for second in total blocks and third in service aces.
Her other extracurricular activities have included Art Club, Spanish Club and assistant coach for the 14-and-under Ultra Volleyball Club team. She plans to major in science in the Sandhills transfer program.
