Pfeiffer’s counselling program receives national recognition

The website Best Counseling Degrees has included Pfeiffer University’s Marriage and Family Therapy graduate program on its 2018 listing of the most affordable and accredited programs in the country. Pfeiffer’s program is in the top ten in the nation, coming in at number eight.

The field of marriage and family therapy is one of the top 50 best jobs in the U.S. with a projected ten-year growth rate of 41.2%, according to CNN Money. Pfeiffer’s program, located on both the Pfeiffer Raleigh and Charlotte campuses, achieved a reaffirmation of its national accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) in recent years. There are about 100 COAMFTE-accredited program in the country.

“Another top-ten ranking does not surprise me,” said Dr. Colleen Perry Keith, Pfeiffer’s president. “Pfeiffer’s program combines theory with practice, is affordable, and taught by highly talented graduate faculty who work closely with our students to ensure that we graduate effective therapists.”
