Two Stanly County schools — both 4-5 with 3-2 conference records — meet in a battle for fourth in the Yadkin Valley Conference. The Bulldogs are coming off a 47-20 win over South Davidson that snapped a two-game losing streak, while the Rebel Bulls blanked Chatham Central 48-0 last week and have allowed just 16.6 points in conference play. Albemarle is averaging just 13.2 points per game.
North Stanly at North Moore

In the biggest Yadkin Valley game of the season, the Comets (8-1, 5-0) knocked off North Rowan 35-7 to seize control of the conference. North Stanly led 14-0 at half and the Cavaliers got within seven with a third quarter touchdown before the Comets pulled away. Next up are the Mustangs (2-7, 1-4), who lost 54-0 to West Montgomery last week and have been shut out in three of their last four games.
West Stanly at Anson

The Colts (3-6, 1-2) lost 43-8 last Friday at East Montgomery, but could climb a spot in the Rocky River standings with a win over the Bearcats (2-7, 2-1). Anson lost its first six games but has won two of three since conference play started. Both teams have struggled on defense — Anson is allowing 39.6 points this season, while West Stanly has give up 334 points (37.1) in nine games.
