State Auditor’s Office adds internal budget dashboard

RALEIGH — The N.C. Office of the State Auditor has launched a public-facing dashboard that tracks the office’s internal budget and spending.

“By opening access to our office’s spending, we’re leading the charge to create a more transparent government in North Carolina,” N.C. State Auditor Dave Boliek said in a press release. “This resource is easily accessible online and should be a new standard of government transparency. The Office of the State Auditor has a mission to hold government accountable, and that includes shining a light on our own office.”

The dashboard can be accessed either on the new dashboards tab or on the main page of the state auditor’s website. The data will be “updated periodically,” according to the press release.

Data in the dashboard will include the office’s revenue sources, expenses by category and by division, as well as spending on vendors for the state’s 2025 fiscal year.

Additionally, data will include how much the auditor’s office receives from audit fees, appropriations to the office and state funds to be carried forward to the following year.
