Republican Carl Ford reelected to NC Senate District 33 seat

RALEIGH — On Tuesday night, Republican incumbent Sen. Carl Ford defeated Democratic challenger Tangela (Lucy Horne) Morgan to retain his Senate District 33 seat. The seat covers portions of Stanly and Rowan Counties.

Ford took in 75.67% of the vote to Morgan’s 24.%.

Ford has served three terms in the North Carolina House in addition to his total of three terms in the Senate. Ford is also the Senate Republican Joint Caucus Leader.
