ASHEBORO — Uwharrie Charter will advance to the fourth round of the state 1-A volleyball playoffs after a straight sets win over Gray Stone Day School on Thursday evening.
The Eagles of UCA jumped out to a set advantage with a 25-21 win in the first set. They then captured the second set and third sets. During the third set, Randolph County Athlete of the Week Gabi Greene scored six straight points from serve for the Eagles.
Also in Randolph County, West Stanly fell in straight sets to the Southwestern Randolph Cougars.
