A man suspected of shooting at an Albemarle police officer in November is no longer a suspect after new information suggested that he was not the shooter. Jeremiah Devon McDougald was arrested in Harnett County on unrelated charges on Nov. 28 and was charged with a litany of charges related to the Albemarle shooting. The Stanly County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that the charges were dropped after an investigation. No new suspects have been identified.
