ALBEMARLE — Fifteen students from Stanly Community College have completed their training and 1,500 hours of apprenticeship to complete their studies in Cosmetology. The students are now eligible to take the State Board of Cosmetic Arts examination to become licensed cosmetologists.
Coursework for this program includes instruction in all phases of professional imaging, hair design, chemical processes, skin care, nail care, multicultural practices, business and computer principles, and product knowledge.
High school students are eligible to enroll in Cosmetology classes through the Career and College Promise program. Through this program, classes are tuition-free and offered on the Albemarle campus at the Morton-Moffitt Cosmetology Center.
