Albemarle (1-3, 1-0) vs. North Moore (1-3, 0-0)

The Bulldogs shut out Chatham Central for the second straight year, handing the Bears a 55-0 loss to give Albemarle its first win of the season. Next up is Yadkin Valley Conference foe North Moore, which has not played since it lost a tight home game to Trinity, 14-13, on Sept. 7. The Mustangs’ conference game against North Rowan last week was postponed due to the aftermath of Hurricane Florence.

North Stanly (3-2, 1-0) at Chatham Central (1-5, 0-1)

The Comets easily dispatched West Montgomery 51-7 last week, and North Stanly next travels to winless Chatham Central for a Yadkin Valley Conference matchup. The Bears are coming off a 55-0 loss to Albemarle and have been outscored 221-49 in five losses this season. In 2017, the Comets handed Chatham Central a 58-6 loss in New London.

South Stanly (3-2, 1-0) vs. North Rowan (3-1, 0-0)

The Rowdy Rebel Bulls bounced back from a close loss to West Stanly on Sept. 7 to hand South Davidson a 56-0 defeat last Friday. North Rowan’s game last week at North Moore was postponed due to the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. It will be the Yadkin Valley Conference opener for the Cavaliers, who beat South Stanly 20-19 in Spencer last year.

West Stanly (3-2) vs. Jay M. Robinson (2-2)

The Colts, coming off a bye week with a two-game winning streak intact, host Jay M. Robinson in a nonconference game. The Bulldogs evened their record with a 20-16 home win over Mount Pleasant last Friday. Last year, Jay M. Robinson — which wound up losing in the NCHSAA 3A semifinal game to Charlotte Catholic — beat up on West Stanly with a 56-7 decision.
