David Jenkins will become the new director of the consolidated Stanly County Health & Human Services Department. Jenkins has more than 17 years of experience in public health having served most recently as the Health Director in Carteret County. Prior to his work in Carteret County, Jenkins was the public health director in Scotland County and also worked as an environmental health supervisor in New Hanover County. Jenkins has a master’s degree in public administration from Walden University and a bachelor?s degree in marine biology from UNC Wilmington. He will assume his new position in Stanly County on Feb. 5, 2018.
