College Basketball Roundup: Woods’ 19 lead N.C. A&T to win


GREENSBORO — Kam Woods scored 19 points as N.C. A&T beat Saint Andrews (NC) 109-57 on Tuesday night.

Woods added eight assists and three steals for the Aggies (2-4). Marcus Watson scored 17 points, going 7 of 13 from the floor. Love Bettis finished 5 of 8 from 3-point range to finish with 15 points.

Ameil Malone finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Knights (0-1). Brodie Clark added 10 points for Saint Andrews (NC). In addition, Garrett McRae finished with 10 points and four assists.

East Carolina 86, Toledo 75

ESTERO, Fla. — Javon Small scored 24 points as East Carolina beat Toledo 86-75 on Tuesday.

Small added seven assists for the Pirates (4-1). Brandon Johnson scored 14 points while going 5 of 8 from the field and added 10 rebounds. RJ Felton recorded 14 points and was 5-of-9 shooting (4 for 6 on 3-pointers).

The Rockets (3-2) were led in scoring by JT Shumate, who finished with 25 points. Toledo also got 21 points and four assists from Rayj Dennis. Setric Millner Jr. also had 11 points and seven rebounds.

UNC Greensboro 76, UMBC 72

GREENSBORO — Keondre Kennedy’s 24 points helped UNC Greensboro defeat UMBC 76-72 on Tuesday night.

Kennedy added eight rebounds for the Spartans (2-2). Mikeal Brown-Jones scored 18 points and added six rebounds. Keyshaun Langley recorded 14 points and shot 5 for 9, including 3 for 5 from beyond the arc.

The Retrievers (3-3) were led in scoring by Colton Lawrence, who finished with 21 points. Matteo Picarelli added 17 points for UMBC. Jarvis Doles also recorded 11 points and seven rebounds.

Jacksonville State 78, Elon 53

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. — Skyelar Potter had 16 points in Jacksonville State’s 78-53 win over Elon on Tuesday night.

Potter had eight rebounds for the Gamecocks (2-2). Demaree King scored 15 points while going 5 of 9 (5 for 7 from distance). Juwan Perdue recorded 13.

Zac Ervin led the way for the Phoenix (1-5) with 16 points and two steals. Sean Halloran added 14 points and three steals for Elon. Torrence Watson also put up eight points.
