College Basketball Roundup: Miller’s 30 points lead UNCG over The Citadel

GREENSBORO — Isaiah Miller had a season-high 30 points plus 12 rebounds as UNC Greensboro defeated The Citadel 87-73 on Monday night.

Kaleb Hunter had 13 points for UNC Greensboro (9-5, 4-2 Southern Conference). Mohammed Abdulsalam added 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Hayden Brown had 14 points for the Bulldogs (8-3, 1-3). Kaiden Rice added 12 points and six rebounds, and Rudy Fitzgibbons III had 11 points.

Samford 82, Western Carolina 78

HOMEWOOD, Ala. — Christian Guess had 19 points to lead five Samford players in double figures as the Bulldogs edged past Western Carolina 82-78 on Monday.

Jacob Tryon added 17 points, and A.J. Staton-McCray and Logan Dye had 11 each.

Richardson Maitre scored 10, including two free throws for a four-point lead with nine seconds left.

Samford (6-7, 2-4 Southern Conference) led 45-25 at halftime. Western Carolina mounted a charge in the second half, scoring 53.

Mason Faulkner had 24 points for the Catamounts (7-5, 0-3). Xavier Cork added 18 points, and Cory Hightower had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Towson 72, UNC Wilmington 69

TOWSON, Md. — Zane Martin had 21 points as Towson narrowly beat UNC Wilmington 72-69 on Monday.

Charles Thompson made two free throws with 1:35 remaining to give Towson a 70-69 lead. He also made 2 of 4 at the stripe in the final 28 seconds. UNC Wilmington only made one field goal in the final four minutes.

Solomon Uyaelunmo had 14 points and nine rebounds for Towson (2-5, 1-1 Colonial Athletic Association). Thompson added 10 points and nine rebounds, and Jason Gibson also had 10 points.

Jaylen Sims had 19 points for the Seahawks (6-4, 0-1). Mike Okauru added 18 points and seven rebounds, and Jake Boggs had 14 points.
