Albemarle (0-3) — off week

Albemarle was shut out at Eastern Randolph last Friday, losing 50-0 to fall to 0-3 on the season. It marked the second time this season the Bulldogs have been blanked. Albemarle, with no game Friday, will have an extra week to prepare for a visit from Union Pines on Sept. 14.

North Stanly (1-1) vs. Providence Day (0-2)

The Comets shook off their season-opening loss and got their first win of the season with a 28-0 victory at West Stanly last Friday. North Stanly next hosts Providence Day, which reached the second round of the state tournament last year but is 0-2 to start the 2018 season. The Chargers did not play last week, giving them extra time to prepare for the Comets.

West Stanly (1-2) at South Stanly (2-1)

The Colts were shut out at home 28-0 by North Stanly last week, and West Stanly now travels to South Stanly for its third straight game against a team from the county. The Rowdy Rebel Bulls got their second straight win last week, a 37-6 victory at Jordan-Matthews, to improve to 2-1. Junior running back Khris Mayo led the way with five rushing touchdowns and more than 150 yards.
