North Stanly is in a three-way tie atop the Yadkin Valley 1A Conference at 2-0

West Stanly at Forest Hills

Marshville  |  Friday, Oct. 6, 7:30 p.m.

The Colts (2-4) have lost two in a row after a 56-7 defeat to Jay M. Robinson last week and now open the Rocky River 2A schedule with a trip to Forest Hills (2-4). The Yellow Jackets won last week 46-39 over Central Cabarrus, but have allowed an average of 51.6 points the past three games. It’s the conference opener for both teams.

 

North Stanly at South Davidson

Denton  |  Friday, Oct. 6, 4 p.m.

The Comets improved to 5-1 with a 58-6 win over Chatham Central last week and are in a three-way tie atop the Yadkin Valley 1A Conference at 2-0. Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 1-5 and coming off a 55-0 loss to West Montgomery — a team North Stanly beat 28-20 on Sept. 22. South Davidson has scored just 13 total points in its four losses.

 

Albemarle vs. North Rowan

Albemarle  |  Friday, Oct. 6, 4:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs (3-3) posted their second straight shutout last week and next up is a key Yadkin Valley 1A Conference game against North Rowan (5-1). Both are 2-0 in the conference (along with North Stanly), with the Cavaliers coming off a one-point win over South Stanly. Albemarle beat North Moore 6-0 last Friday, a team North Rowan dismantled 54-7 two weeks ago.

 

South Stanly vs. North Moore

Robbins  |  Friday, Oct. 6, 7 p.m.

The Rowdy Rebel Bulls (2-4, 1-1) suffered their second one-point loss of the season last week, a 20-19 defeat at North Rowan despite shutting out the Cavaliers in the second half. The visiting Mustangs (1-5, 0-2) have lost four in a row and been outscored 60-7 in two Yadkin Valley games this season after being shut out 6-0 by Albemarle last Friday.
