Friday night football schedule

West Stanly at Jay M. Robinson

Concord  |  Friday, Sept. 29, 7:30 p.m.

The Colts (2-3) get a nonconference road test against the Jay M. Robinson Bulldogs (3-2). West Stanly was tied at halftime last week with West Montgomery before the Warriors outscored the Colts 34-7 in the second half en route to a 48-21 decision. The Bulldogs are winners of two straight, most recently knocking off Mount Pleasant 22-18 last week.

Chatham Central at North Stanly

Bear Creek  |  Friday, Sept. 29, 7 p.m.

The 4-1 Comets host Chatham Central, who was shut out last week by Albemarle, 27-0, and has been outscored 112-32 the last three weeks. Other than a loss to Northwest Cabarrus two weeks ago, North Stanly’s offense has been tough to stop — the Comets have scored 39, 51, 56 and 28 in their four wins.

Albemarle at North Moore

Robbins  |  Friday, Sept. 29, 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs (2-3) bounced back from back-to-back shutouts to post one of their own last week in a 27-0 win over Chatham Central and are looking to improve to 2-0 in conference play. The North Moore Mustangs (1-4) have scored just 26 points total the last three weeks, all losses, and are trying to win at home for the first time this season.

South Stanly at North Rowan

Spencer  |  Friday, Sept. 29, 7 p.m.

The Rowdy Rebel Bulls (2-3) have won two of the last three thanks to a 41-7 thrashing of South Davison last week and will try and hand North Rowan its first home loss in more than two years. The 4-1 Cavaliers reached the 2A playoff quarterfinals last season and their only blemish this year is a 27-11 Week 2 loss to West Rowan.
